Now in Dubai to Boost Exports

To increase exports of Indonesian products to the Middle East, Africa and beyond, B2B cross border e-commerce platform recently opened a branch office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). founder and CEO Ilyas Bhat said the branch office in Dubai would serve as a hub or liaison to facilitate coordination regarding export services from Indonesia.
“The Dubai office will serve as our office for the Middle East and North Africa region. This office will coordinate our services in 4 main categories," Ilyas explained at's head office in Bogor, West Java recently.
The four main categories are products in the agricultural sector, food and beverage (F&B), clothing (fashion/apparel/garment) and furniture.
So far, platform has focused on promoting and showcasing Indonesian brands and ready-for-export companies.
Meanwhile, for small businesses and individual businesses, promotions and efforts to introduce their products are carried out through Indo-World Plaza, a “global store” powered by platform. also plays a role as a party that will help small businesses and individuals, especially by providing financing facilities or becoming a buyer of their products for export.
"The entire financing and logistics process will be handled directly by Indo-World Plaza," Ilyas added.
Of course, Indo-World Plaza will also play a role in the promotion and marketing of products produced by small businesses and individuals.
The opening of a branch office in Dubai and the increasingly diverse services are in line with the government's program to expand exports to non-traditional markets.
According to data from the Statistics Indonesia (BPS), the value of Indonesia's exports in May 2021 was recorded at US$16.6 billion, down 10.25 percent compared to exports in April 2021. However, compared to May 2020, the export value rose quite significantly by 58.76 percent.
Exports were dominated by manufactured products (77 percent), followed by mining products (15.6 percent), oil and gas (5.64 percent) and agricultural products (1.42 percent).
"Similar branch offices will also be opened in several countries, including in China, Japan, the United States, Britain and Switzerland in the near future," said Ilyas.
The daily operation of Dubai branch office will take place at the Al Zarooni Business Center Al Barsha Area, Dubai.
Since its launch last year, has reached a number of agreements in various industries, from B2B equipment to agricultural supplies, worth US$10 million and some are in various stages of negotiation and mostly involve international buyers from Africa and the Middle East.
Recently, organized a Virtual Exhibition entitled Indonesia Food & Beverage and Lifestyle in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in Manila and the Indonesian Consulate General in Davao which brought Indonesian businesspeople and potential buyers from the Philippines into the same forum.
The exhibition run for three days, on June 28-30, 2021.
